Swordbearer Howto

Back

Extract the zip file to your poser 5 directory with the "use folder names" box checked. The files will be extracted at the right place in your poser download directory.

Launch poser and load your michael 3 character.

Dont forget to uncheck all the inverse Kinematiks parts.

Select Michael body.

Using Window -> Joint Editor, click on Zero Figure.

Then select the Downloads directory and open the Swordbearer Dir in Props/Dynamix clothing.

Load the Robe first.

The  prop will fit exactly  the character zero pose.
Now Go to the cloth room.

Create a new simulation with 30 frames. Check Cloth self-collision. Don't use Drape frame as your cloth already fit to the zero pose.

Clothify the robe

Click collide against, check your  figure (Michael), let the default parameters, uncheck "start draping from pose", check the  "ignore collision" boxe for head.

This item don't need a constrained group.

Set your animation to 30 frames.

On frame 15, load the pose you want to work on.

(We keep always 30 frames free to allow the cloth to steady).

Then, use the same steps in this order for:
  - frock
  - cape
  - cowl

and add each time a new simulation.

You will have to add constraints at the top of the cape. Also at the top of the cowl if you want to keep it on the head.

To save time, just check for collisions the michael parts needed (head, neck, hands,..)

If you prefer a closed cape, start as this :

  - set shoulders bend at 75 for the right and -75 for the left

  - before simulation, at frame 1, select each item and set the morph "shoulders 75°" to 1

This item work well with the default dynamic parameters, so you don't need to change them.
You will perhaps have to use postwork for the cowl : because of the number of collision objects (michael head and neck, robe, frock, cape), the simulation is not always perfect.
