Slatted Howto

Back

1) Load Victoria

Using menu figure -> use inverse kinematics, uncheck everything.

2) Load the skirt

3) The skirt (figure 2) selected, conform it to Victoria (figure 1)

4) Select Victoria (figure 1) and apply your pose.

As you can see, the skirt has no conforming thighs, only a hip. We will use the morphs to finish the pose.

5) Select the skirt (figure 2).

Using the parameter dials, use the dress hip morphs to fit the cloth to the pose. Scale a little if needed.

6) Render now.....
Why :  it's not possible to get long skirts or dresses with folds conforming (and looking natural). With poser 4, making the thin hip part needed falling to the ground work only well with straight and short clothes . So I limit the skirt part to the hip and I use morphing. I get a better cloth simulation but the poses are limited (but not sure they are more limited than with confoming thighs as everything is distorted very quickly).
