As we will use Don as template, import first
the obj file P5NudeMan.obj which is in your directory ...\Poser 5\Runtime\Geometries\.
If you use 3DSMax, you need habware plugins import/export obj files. You can get them at www.habware.at. |
Import the file with the multiple option
selected (we will have to modify the hip).
Also remenber that poser works with very tiny files : set the vertex scale at 100 at least. |
As we don't want a "genitalia"
character, we have to change the hip.
Select the hip part and delete. Select the genital part and delete. Then import the obj file blHipNoGen.obj which is in the same directory as the P5NudeMan.obj (use always the same vertex scale). |
Now save the "don template" in your
work directory.
Reset your work space and load it again, this time as single ( we don't need anymore to see the parts) and vertex scale 1. |
Draw a box for the right sleeve.
In modify mode convert the box to editable mesh to be able to work on verticies. |
With the vertex selection, adjust the box to the shoulder part, using alternately the top, front and side view. |
Select the verticies on the left and rotate
them to keep the arm curvature.
The switch to face selection and select the two faces at the cube left end. Extrude the faces. |
If needed, back in the vertex selection, correct your verticies position in the top view. |
Using the face selection, select the two faces at the right of the box. Extrude 5 times, approximately as shown on the left image. |
Adjust in the front view the verticies for the neck and in the top view the verticies for the left arm. |
Using the face selection, select all the
faces at the bottom of our shirt (chest part).
Extrude twice as shown. |
Now select and delete the faces at each end of the sleeves, at the neck and at the bottom of the skirt. |
Add a meshsmooth modifier, Set the subdivision iterations amount to 3. |
To finish this part, add an UVW mapping modifier, set it planar. Then assign a material to the shirt and collapse the stack. |
| You can export your obj file now
: select the shirt and use export selected. Don't forget to rescale for
poser (1/100e)
(For an unknown reason, I don't get a correct position of the obj when I export with a 0.01 vertex scale with the habware plugin. So I export with a 1 scale, import with a 0.01 scale and export again with a 1 scale.) |
